XLI Observations

Well...the Super Bowl has finally come and gone. Now I am sad because football is over and I don't know what to do. I suppose I could do something productive with the hours and hours per week I spend watching and reading about football. I'll probably just find something else to involve myself in. Anyway...here are my observations

  • Manning finally won his big game. Hopefully everyone will now shut up about his inability to win a big game. I doubt it though...my guess is that most people will comment on how he has not won 2 rings...and therefore is a garbage quarterback.

  • Tony Dungy won his big game. Again, this is wonderful because we finally have a black coach who won the super bowl. As I have commented before, this is excellent because it will finally give black people more options and potential in professional sports. Professional athletics is such a white dominated thing. Although...now black coaches are only .500 in Super Bowls, and that's not very good. I would be concerned that only half of them can ever get to the summit.

  • Rex Grossman is easily the worst QB I have ever seen. Not even the worst QB in a Super Bowl. Grossman is worse than Chris Weinke and Gino Torreta. If I were a Bears fan, I would be demanding they draft a QB or bring one in through Free Agency. That dude is terrible.

  • I strongly disdain Jim Nantz. Every time he says a word the hair on my neck stands up. I feel that is some sort of warning that I should avoid him at all costs. I can't though...I have to listen to his smug, pompous "commentating" in every single TV event ever. I think he is going to try to take over the world, I wouldn't put it past him. One arrogant verb at at time.

  • Peter King reports that some Bengals were out at 5am the night before and night after. I have no reason to believe this is not true, except there were no reports of arrests this morning. I assume a Bengals player can't be out until 5am without getting sleep. Therefore, it's probably safe to say they were all at home, in bed, by 11:30pm.

Only 2.5 months until the draft!!!

Labels: Jim Nantz, Peter King, Peyton Manning, Rex Grossman, Tony Dungy
