Time Warner Cable = bad service

Here in Cincinnati most people have Time Warner Cable. It is a huge company that just doesn't always do the right thing for its customers. (I am not anti-big companies either...I am only anti-any company with poor customer service)

I don't think I have ever heard anyone who was really excited and satisfied with Time Warner. I've heard people with other networks satisfied. Satellite people won't shut up about how great theirs is. (I have looked into getting sattelite...but I think the trees block the signal). I have had bad experience in the past with Time Warner, and I expect bad experiences in the future.

Anyway...People around here have been pining for Time Warner to add a couple channels:
  1. NFL Network - This all NFL channel is available on satellite and other cable networks, but not through Time Warner. There has been a rather public dispute about who is in the wrong here...the NFL network or Time Warner. I don't really know who to believe because I don't trust either organization. They are probably both liars. Still...I love me some football and I want the NFL Network.

  2. ESPNU - This is just the ESPN channel that shows only college related things. I've missed a number of Buckeye games and UC games because they were on ESPNU, which we don't get.

  3. ESPN2 HD - This is just the HD channel for ESPN2. For some reason ESPN2 gets bad reception in most places I've watched it. It doesn't really make sense. Anyway...I want it in HD. I paid a lot of money for my sweet HDTV...and I can't watch these sports in HD because Time Warner is run by a bunch of idiots. WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING HD IF THE CHANNELS ARE ALL EXCLUSIVE.
All that said...there are reports that Time Warner is about to cave and make ESPNU and ESPN2 HD available on the current package. This is excellent news!

Next -- Fox Sports HD!!
