Hypnosis & Ghosts

I read something about hypnosis today...about what it is and what it isn't. I thought it was really interesting. The basic point of the article was that real hypnosis is totally different than "stage hypnosis". Apparently in real hypnosis, a person can not be commanded to do anything. For example...they can not be commanded to squawk like a chicken (or harm somebody) if they don't want to. It's a totally voluntary experience.

I have never really believed in hypnosis before. To be fair, I've never really thought about it. I'm not sure why I don't believe in it. It seems like I just kind of defaulted to it. I believe the human mind is a very powerful tool. Why can't there be people who have developed strategies that enhance brain power through relaxation or whatever else? It certainly is possible right? So why do I dismiss it out of hand?

I also have defaulted to not believing in ghosts and stuff like that. Again, I'm not really sure why I don't.

Now that I think about it...it seems like I should believe in it. I believe that a supernatural world exists, 100%. I believe there is a God, Satan, Angels & Demons. I believe they all exist in this super natural world. So why not ghosts?

I guess one of the reasons I struggle with it is because I know that once someone dies, they are dead for good. But that doesn't necessarily mean that that person's likeness can't be assumed by Satan or one of his minions, right? Should I believe in ghosts...but only that if there truly is a ghost sighting that it is a vision of the devil?

I'm not sure...but I'll probably be doing more thinking about this.

Anyone have any thoughts about these?
