Thursday, July 19, 2007TennisSo I finally got back out on the court the other day with a friend of mine. I hadn't played in over a year so I was looking to remember how to swing and all that stuff. We did the normal amateur warm-up (hit back and forth for 5 minutes and declare yourselves ready for anything) and started playing. Now...my strings were on their last breath, yet they lasted over a year in their terrible condition. We played through 5 games and as we switched sides I said to Evan, "Hey...check out these strings! They are terrible but they have lasted a long time like this!" You can guess what happened next. Evan served the ball...I put a hard return on it and PINNNGGGGGGGGG!!! Snapped. I shouldn't have said anything. I'm stupid. But now I am prepared to play. I got my racquet restrung. I bought new tennis shoes (my old ones had a hole in the sole). I even bought a used demo racquet so I would have a backup in case my main one breaks. I am ready to roll. The point of this story is this: If anyone wants to play tennis with me, let me know. I want to play more. So drop me a line or an e-mail or whatever. One more question: What is the proper spelling: Racket or Racquet? Labels: Tennis
