NFL Week 3 Thoughts
Sorry for skipping Week 2, had a busy week and actually didn't watch very much football.
- The Cincinnati Bengals are headed for a 7-9 season, I fear. There are too many holes on this team. Carson Palmer is having an awesome season so far, as are Chard Johnson and TJ. Otherwise they are playing terribly. On the plus side, Chris Henry will be back after the 8th game and Chris Perry will be back after the 5th game. So that should help hypothetically. Although, unless one of them learns how to play lock down defense, it probably won't matter
- The two best looking teams are New England and Pittsburgh. I only leave the Colts out because I have only watched one of their games. I'm sure they are just fine. But New England is bludgeoning everyone they play, mostly with their passing game. Next up? The Bengals, who can't stop the passing game. Uh Oh.
- I take back what I said last time about Brett Favray. He looks like he is 25 again. Fun to watch. Although I keep expecting him to wing the ball into triple coverage.
- The Saints are terrible. Drew Brees looks nothing like he has his entire career. I suspect steroids. Reggie Bush looks like a high schooler. I suspect heroin.
- Joyfully, the bears are terrible and Rex Grossman continues to suck!! I hope they keep him as the starter forever!
- I don't understand the rules that state when a ball is ruled incomplete on the field, it can't be challenged. I don't get that. Why? Why is not every single play challengeable? So far this year I have seen some pretty poor officiating. It seems to be bad for everyone though, so at least they are consistent. As a close family friend always says, "THEY NEED FULL TIME OFFICIALS!!!"
- It's fun to see Houston play well for the first time. I think everyone is rooting for them. Matt Schaub is the greatest QB since Joe Namath (which of course means that he is just a little bit better than average. In a future post I will explain to you why I don't like Joe Namath and think he is overrated.)
